A character’s weapon is a large part of what defines a character’s combat abilities. Each weapon possesses melee and ranged attacks at varying degrees based on their specialty. These attacks are unleashed by completing weapon combos using the basic weapon attacks. A certain order of basic attacks will unleash a special attack when that chain is complete.
Weapon Choices
- One Handed: Skilled fighters with one-handed combat weapons use a mix of precision and strength to execute quick and strong attacks before dealing powerful blows.
Some characters who use one-handed weapons include Hawkman, Deathstroke, and Ra’s Al Ghul.
- Hand Blaster: Fighters with hand blasters are able to deal damage with a simple wave or a powerful thrust with their arms. Their attacks can be used to keep enemies at a safe distance. Some characters who use hand blasters include Doctor Fate, Starfire, and Killer Frost.
- Bow: Archers are often used for their precision and power from a long distance, but can also be used for quick melee attacks when the action gets too close. Some of DC Universe’s famous archers include Green Arrow, Speedy, and Merlyn.
- Brawling: These fighters don’t hold anything back as they use brute strength to battle their opponents. Some brawler characters include Superman, Wonder Woman, Doomsday, and Bane.
- Dual Pistols: Skilled dual-wielding sharpshooters use their skills to create deadly shots from a distance. These can also be used in close combat as a melee weapon. Some famous marksmen include Arsenal, Captain Cold, Two-Face, and Mirror Master.
- Dual Wield: Acrobatic dual wielders make every moment count by releasing a stream of rapid hitting strikes that keep multiple opponents back. A great example of a famous dual wielder is Nightwing.
- Martial Arts: These fighters are quick and furious, striking from all angles with a seamless string of combinations. Martial artists are the most defensive fighters with their abilities to dodge and counterattack. Some famous martial artists in the DC Universe include Batman, Black Canary, Catwoman, and Lady Shiva.
- Rifle: While most commonly known for their distance, rifle wielders can attack from a safe range or use their weapon to maul close-ranged enemies. They have a variety of ammunition ranging from grenade to flamethrowers. Some famous rifle users include Mister Freeze and Arsenal.
- Shield: Use a shield to bash or throw at your enemies. Known for strength and combo flixibility, the Shield is for the fighter who wants to wade into battle with brute force. The most famous shield user is of course Wonder Woman.
- Staff: Staff wielding fighters skillfully twirl their weapon with astounding speed. They attack enemies with devastating sweeps, spins and blows. Famous staff wielders includ Robin and The Huntress.
- Two Handed: Fighters who wield two-handed weapons use power and strength to deal their slow, but devastating attacks. Harley Quinn and Steel are a couple of famous two handed weapon wielders.
